It has been a fantastic morning on this third and final day of the Shell Eco-marathon – you can hear the teams behind me – they had a fantastic race – we have seen fiercely competitive racing and Microjoule looks like the winner again.

What has been remarkable this year is that the places behind the winners have been much more competitive and the numbers are much closer together so there are a lot more teams in close distance to the overall leader Microjoule.

Pretty emotional. We’re overwhelmed I think you know. We’ve worked all through the night for the last week. We’ve had endless kind of problems but the team have overcome them. We didn’t give in. We did the last run on the last hour and we’ve managed to get a great trophy and it’s a real credit to the team.
